Look into a Bravo Company build:

Bravo Company Upper (16" M4, 16" Middie, 14.5" or 11.5") = $475
Bravo Company Bolt Carrier Group = $159
Bravo Company Charging Handle = $24
Bravo Company Complete Lower = $350

Total for one awesome build that meets or exceeds the Military specs = $1,008. Then add in the handguards and rear BUIS of your choice.

For less than a colt 6920, you will have a rifle that will rival it in many ways. Of course, for $1200 you can get a 6920 these days too.

how available are all the parts?Seems like a good deal.I may get the Mega lower for 135 and a DPMS LPK for 100 in place of the Bravo one.

You can get them, just have to watch for availability. The owner of Bravo Company has the highest standards, and doesn't sell it if it's not up to those standards.

The lowers are available through www.gandrtactical.com and www.globaltactical.com only.

The uppers and bolt carrier groups can be had from www.bravocompanyusa.com and the above two.

Whenever they come into stock, they sell out in about 20 minutes, so you have to be ready to buy one when they hit.

Usually, someone on www.m4carbine.net posts a sighting when items are in stock.

I have no experience with BCM, but I seen Tx's rifle and it was nice.

The only AR's I have now are my trusty bushmaster HB 16", my frakenpistol....and the DPMS AR 10. All of which seem to be very reliable. Have probably a few thousand rounds through the BM and it has never once had an issue.

When you saw it, it was still a franken AR in that the BCM upper was mated to a spikes tactical lower. I'm actually parting with the spikes tomorrow as I managed to score a BCM lower to go with the upper. Smile

So, at this point, I have a complete BCM 16" middie.

It's a no-frills sort of rifle, like a colt carbine would be, but at the same time it's one of the nicest, most dependable rifles I think I've ever owned.

Got my hands on the BCM lower last night from the FFL. For the money, it is a very nice complete lower.

The thing I like about BCM isn't that they are on the cutting edge or anything, it's that their barrels, BCG's, etc, are all spec'd according to true milspec.

For example, here are the basic specs for their various length uppers:
M4 Feed Ramp Barrel Extension
M4 Feed Ramp Flat Top Receiver
T-Marked Upper Receivers
USGI 1/7 Twist Rates
USGI 5.56 NATO Chambers
Mil-Spec 11595E - 4150 Grade Barrel Steel (CMV)
Chrome Lined Bore and Chamber
Manganese Phosphate Barrel Finish - including under FSB
Mil-Spec F-Marked Forged Front Sights
USGI Government Profile Barrels
HPT (High Pressure Test) Barrels
MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspected) Barrels

And here are the specs for their Bolt Carrier Groups:
MPI Bolt (Magnetic Particle Inspected)
Shot Peened Bolt
Chrome Lined Carrier (AUTO)
Chrome Lined Gas Key
Gas Key Hardened to USGI Specifications
Grade 8 Hardened Fasteners
Key Staked Per Mil-Spec
BCM™️ Extractor Spring
Black Extractor Insert
Mil-Spec Crane O-Ring

While a lower is a lower many say, the BCM one is just a nice match to their meat and potato's, which is their upper and BCG. BCM Complete AR15 Lowers come with a Magpul MOE Trigger Guard, H Buffer and Mil-Spec (6 position) Receiver Extension.

Not trying to be a BCM fanboy, but after briefly owning DPMS, Spikes Tactical, some Franken-AR's, and checking out lots of other brands, I appreciate the fact that BCM is second only to Colt in meeting the true military specs as laid out on the TDP.

By no means am I putting down other brands or home built, but rather I'm pointing out the value of what they put into a prebuilt package.

Anyway, YMMV. Just my opinion and 2 cents worth. Very Happy

I'll try to post up a pic of my current one tonight or this weekend if I get a chance. Right now, as it sits it is only sporting plastic handguards and a basic m4 stock. Only add ons have been a larue fixed rear buis and a vickers sling I picked up from Mike (tallyxd) yesterday.

He is obviously color blind though, as he advertised it as coyote tan, but it's foliage green. LOL Fine by me though, as I think I prefer the green anyway.

I'm guessing I'm under 7 pounds, as I was at 7.2 pounds when I had a magpul UBR stock and troy rail on the same basic setup. Will weigh it though out of curiosity.

Not sure what I'm going to add to this one. Want an Aimpoint T1/H1 sight. Might add a rail. Just don't know, but want to keep it light and simple.

Price wise, I have seen some coming back down too. The S&W's are starting to come back down to the high $800 to low $900 range, which is about where they were a year ago.

I've only owned one AR-15, it's a little Bushmaster XM-15 with an 10.5" barrel and the 5.5" flash hider.
I bought it years ago (maybe 20 years, paid less than $400).

Anyways, that little Bushmaster has never given me any problems.

Since I'm not a .223 guy (I prefer .30s) I gave it to my Son a couple years ago!

Again, it's been fired a lot and still keeps chugging along.

Actually, I was just looking through the box of AR mags and found a 125rd. steel drum for it! (wonder what that old things worth?)
